ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is a terpolymer made by polymerizing styrene monomer and acrylonitrile monomer in the presence of butadiene monomer. ABS is a engineering thermoplastic polymer and is amorphous. The continuous phase of styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer (SAN) gives the material rigidity, hardness and heat resistance. And the toughness of ABS is the result of submicroscopically fine polybutadiene rubber particles uniformly distributed in the SAN matrix.
